In 2023, the Veteran Farmers of New Jersey was established within NOFA NJ to engage and support veterans interested in agriculture & food systems through community building, technical support, mentorship & educational opportunities.
Veteran Farmers of New Jersey was brought about by NOFA NJ Member and VFNJ Coordinator, Cliff Pristas, a Veteran of the United States Army. Seeing the need and opportunity to engage veterans in agriculture, VFNJ is actively seeking partners and farm hosts to join in the initiative.
